Valentine Day Tree Complete

(Ok...so apparently the HP and the Nikon kissed and made up...after all tomorrow is V tines Day)

Drum Roll Please! ! ! FINALLY...yesterday I nailed it down...the tree topper. Just a simple cardboard cut out of a heart...with red polka dot fabric sewn onto it (look closely the edges are pinking sheared...so cute). It looks like a BIG OLE Valentine sitting up there. Highlights of the tree...are the pinky bunny...and the heart with wings...and red glittery lotus springing up from behind the BIG OLE VALENTINE...and oh did you see the beaded little red birds! I made those too!!! JUST kidding...you must be smoking crack to have the patience to make those.

So the tree is complete...and if I do say so myself...it is a rocking pretty tree...and is much prettier than my Christmas tree ever looks?

Anyway...Happy Valentine's Day Eve. Maybe I'll actually plug the tree in tonight! Oh yeah I have NOT plugged it in yet?

Here and There

Today we went to the McDonald's drive thru...2 Bacon Egg and Cheese biscuits and 1 order of hashroons pees. Then scooted over to the library...oops what time do we usually go to story time? Uh not at whatever time we got there...because it was 6 months to 18 months and it was the end of their time at that...so we sat in the back and pretended we fit in...(I'm sure Mrs. Apri knew we'd messed up...because C.J. wanted a sticker afterwards like usual...and 6 month olds don't get stickers?) hey I fullfilled my promise that I'd made last night...that we'd go to the library today...(Britt Britt...is my time keeper...and she was at home with one of her two sick doll babys.) So then we went to get C.J.'s hair cut...the place we usually go to was not open...the door said OPEN AT 10:00 a.m......it was 10:30 a.m. I am in a time warp today? So on to another place to get the hairs cut. He doesn't care where as long as the gets a lolli afterward. Check that off my list. Then to Target...to find Valentine treats...then to the Dollar Store to find Valentine treats.

So Ba-Boo is getting:
-2 tiger plates
-2 pig plates
-2 new sippy cups (Georgia Techish colors...ROCK ON! ! !)
-3 boxes of fake orange tic-tacs (he opened the 4th box on the way home)
-1 heart Pez pack
-1 sheet of Cars The Movie magnets

Total Cost: $8.00

aND WHEN i GOT HOME...I PAID MY SPEEDING TICKET. cHECK OFF LIST. STUPID TICKET.

Kisses Signs

I had some old signs that I made 6, 7, 8 years ago (one said Good Morning/the other Good Bye)(I made them to hang on the doors in my apartment when I was single ok...anyway)...that were not being used now...so I spray painted them white...and made them Valentine Signs.

Fabric Framed Love

True Up a fabric website...I run across ocasionally (yesterday) has a cool banner...the words are in fabric:

http://www.trueup.net/

I thought hmmm I'll try letters in fabric too...on another Valentine project. So I went to the art bedroom and took down an old frame of Cow Parade that I made...6, 7, 8 years ago and began painting. Quite easy...painted the mat frame red...then glued fabric scraps on it...covered the back with red linen and glued on L-O-V-E...a quick bow and find a place to hang it.

C.J. was into Thomas the Train today...we got the trains down and he wanted me to blow the whistle (I got to hold it...see it is on the island with my fabric scraps) and shout "All Aboard" every once in a while. Then he wanted to wear the Thomas backpack that we keep the trains in. I put it on him and he said "Moma, drive school bus"...it made me sad for a second...because I knew what he meant...it meant he wanted to ride the school bus because he had a backpack on. Wow that is the 1st time I've thought about him going to kindergarten. I'm so glad that is almost 4 years away.

Framed Love

A Super Easy Project...I'd seen something like this back in December at Just a Girl and stored it away in my brain because it is too easy not to have some for all holidays!:

http://j-a-girl.blogspot.com/2008/12/because-im-not-busy-enough.html

Grab an old frame...some scrap paper...a wooden word for $00.50 at the craft store...some scissors and glue. Trace the glass on the paper...cut out a few hearts in a coordinating paper...put in frame...glue word on outside of glass...find a good place to put it. Get in the Valentine Mood.

(The so cute new apron with polka dots and ruffles is from my friend Suzanne! Thank you! I love it!)

A similar more time consuming framed paper idea: On Martha Stewart they also made scrapbook Paper Landscapes and framed them...I'll try those soon also:

Valentine Towels

Yes this a.m. I shifted into craft mode (I wanted to make more purses)...finish the tree skirt...work on the tree topper...work on Valentine towels for the me, Nana, MeMe, and Aunt Cassie...where is my fabric glue? I have got to find it so I can glue these hands on! ! ! Yeah my towel was a real towel (the one with hearts and says Mama)...I made the other 3 out of fabric I had. I used white quilting squares (that I had) to paint on with fabric paint (a simple zigzag strich with red thread onto the towel...hey this its not made to wash or dry with) and glued (will glue) a cut out of C.J.'s hand. Easy enough for you moms to do! You could probably find a cute towel at the dollar store as well as paint and have a cute little gift for Nana/Meme for only a buck or two. And you could just dip the kid's hand/baby's foot in paint and slap it on instead of cutting out a fabric one ;) Good luck...it is pretty easy! And as usual Click on the pictures for a closer view.

Valentine Tree Skirt Complete

YEAH! ! ! I did it! I did it! I finished the Valentine Tree Skirt! I was not trying to matchup the fabric...but it looks like I tried...which makes it ug...but I do not care...I love how this turned out! I did it! I did it! All by myself...no tutorials. And so you can see the tree from afar...the topper is still in production.

Almost a Valentine Tree

So I brought the white tree that mom bought me for my birthday home from mom and dads house on Sunday! I have been so excited to put my Valentine Tree together (C.J. was excited too)! And I will not show the top yet...because the topper it is being made...and I will not show the bottom yet...because the skirt is not finished. Enjoy the Middle ;) Remember this tree was $17.00! And the ornaments were birthday presents.
