And still waiting...
And another email yesterday...we understand that the situation is complicated...but this is just SO hard...it's starting to feeling like we are grasping for straws.
Today I made my cousin Mary some onesies and bibs...her little "Levi" will be arriving in a few weeks.

Let's see...after the stomach bug...I started working on our homestudy again...and since it has been nice outside I started working on CJ's new headboard that Jake and I found for $7.00...not sure what color I am going to paint it.
BEFORE

SANDED...now to decide if I am going to paint it red...probably. And see that wardrobe it is leaning on...I am working on it too...for the nursery...but thats another post.

Had a request come in for a shirt...

She stopped by yesterday to pick it up...Little doll isn't she...CJ had her turned into a super hero in no time!

And I made a new button...see it..."Considering Adoption?" This is my friend Holly. She is starting her own Adoption Profile Business...so spread the word...cause we all know someone facing infertility...its an epidemic!!! I would know right ;) Absolutely I am one of them. Holly has 2 beautiful adopted children and her heart is ready to help others find children for their families.

Pumpkin Shirt
I did paint C.J.'s pumpkin shirt yesterday...now I need to downsize it.

That's acrylic paint and a sharpie...on a $2.00 shirt.
On another note...did you know you can always print Old Navy coupons from their Old Navy Weekly.com page? You find coupons...and can print 1 per week...like $50 off $100, $10.00 off $50.00, 10%, 15% or 20% off your total, etc...ask me if you need help...they reset on Thursdays...and the good ones go fast...search on Twitter or Facebook to find where the good ones are hidden.
And well I find coupons for Macy's, Victoria's Secret, Belk, etc like this too...it is usually the most current info.

Cupcake Options
Hey Lisa...
Here are the options...
Size 2T Pink (remember they run VERy small)...

Size 2T White...
.JPG)
Size 12 months pink onesie...with the circle...
.JPG)
Size 18 months pink onesie...with the circle...
.JPG)
The onesies have a design on them that I cannot cover with just a cupcake...thus the circle with the cupcake on it. (And none of these are ironed and sewn on yet...)

Bleached Pumpkins
My Aunt Gigi saved me this magazine last year...and I packed it with my fall stuff to try this year...
.JPG)
Seriously cute right!
.JPG)
I wanted to make C one last week...
.JPG)
The one with lots of pumpkins...
.JPG)
So I bought an orange shirt at Michaels for $2.00 and a bleach pen at the dollar store for $1.00...great cheap project right!!!
.JPG)
Mmmm you can't see but I put the foil in the shirt and bleached on my circles...then dried them with a hairdryer...
.JPG)
Then threw the shirt in the washer...all ALONE...

Then dried it...and it didn't work!!! What??? Yeah IT DID NOT WORK! I surfed the internet...hunting for someone to help me...found a helper...he said "orange is hard to bleach" OF COURSE IT IS...so I guess I'll try again and if it still doesn't work...I'll use white paint and be on my way...

A Quick Fix
Alright...I bought this shirt/dress (like long enough to wear with capri jeans but too long for shorts and too short to wear as a dress for my long legs) at the thrift store back in the spring...waiting to wear it as a maternity shirt?...and pulled it out as a swimsuit cover up. I thought it needed pepping up...so last night I removed its dingy tangly white tie...and added a pretty pink ribbon. And decided to add a little cover...so I traced the triangle area cut 2 pieces of fabric a little bit bigger that the triangle...sewed them right sides together...turned it wrong side out and sewed it into the shirt/dress. Easy peasy...and then I sewed the pocket back on my white summer sweater...that has been safety pinned on since March...TTFN

Shirred Something?
So I got my new elastic thread out this a.m. and tried to make myself a red floral shirred dress. After 8 rows of problems...I decided to call the doctor and schedule myself an appointment to have my wrist cyst drained (gross...sorry). It has been killing me lately...thus I have not wanted to read...Eclipse...stinking hardback is just that much more painful to hold...or sew...and anyway the lady said can you be here in 1 hour and 20 minutes. I said sure....scramble to get ready and off we go to get a referral.
So we got back home...I decided to get my sewing machine book out and read about tension. Wow...this made a huge difference. Another problem thus far...well using your bust size to cut the material...is NOT right...who told me that and why did I not see that info was WRONG!!!? So I can shirr another piece and sew them down the sides? Or make this into a dress for a little girl...that the stitching is not so pretty on? I guess I will shirr another piece and sew on the sides...at least I can salvage it as a pool cover up?
Ps. Perrywinkle's called to say my purse was in so I picked it up (my Mother's Day purse)...is it totally wrong that I bought Vera and didn't make one like it myself? Oh well. I love you Cupcake Green Morgan. Thanks C.J. I love being your mommy.

More Upcycled & Granola
I have upcycled a few more shirts...we went to the GT bookstore Memorial day...they had tons of ladies shirts for $5.00 because they are sized too small...so I bought a few with plans as such. Worked well...

Reconstructed a I heart New York shirt...is it about time to go back up there?
.JPG)
And no I DO NOT like granola...well Quaker smore granola bars yes...and no I DO NOT hug trees...but I have lots of planted things growing tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, fuchsia, wildflowers, watermelon, and YES I do shave my arm pits. So why all this hippy talk? I got something from the UPS man today...Birkenstocks. I bought them off EBAY. I had some back in middle/high school...and well I'm not sure if it happens to everybody when you turn 30 but...my back hurts...and I thought these would give me some support as apposed to my millions of pairs of super cute Yellow Box Flip Flops and well New Balance are too hot to wear to the ball field. Perhaps my back hurts because I stand up and sew at the kitchen cabinet so ba-boo can run laps around me rather than sewing at my table in my sewing closet. Anyway we'll see how this goes. Hubbie is going to say they are so ugly. They are the "Zara" Betulas.

Oh...I didn't see these...RHINESTONES and ZEBRA PRINT!!! Maybe they would have been a better choice...or maybe I'll get them if they help.
