A big "love"

So quilting is practically impossible while adjusting to two kids...especially when adopting our baby (we had 3 days to get ready to go pick her up in another state and had to stay there for 8 days while the paperwork cleared for us to bring her home)...so finishing the nursery has been on the top of the other things to do priority list right after keep the kids fed, bathed, played with and the house semi clean...and this quilt was 2nd to the nursery...well finishing the nursery is now on my 2012 to do list...and with 2 sets of loving grandparents who've babysat at various times...I've finally finished this big "love" Thank You from the bottom of our hearts quilt!!! I'll post more pics after it is in the arms of the loving lady it is being mailed too...

While I'm waiting...

Well today we will find out BIG news...happy news or sad news...so after taking Avery for a 8:20 vet appointment...we are home...and I finished a quilt for one of Jake's best friends...who's sweet baby girl will be born any day now...

Now I suppose we will drive to the post office and get this in the mail along with a million hair bows and a few onesies I made her...and then I will think of something else to keep me busy!

Luck of the Irish...

Happy Friday!

Homestudy is almost complete...we've turned in ALLLLLLL of our paperwork...we have one more meeting on Tuesday and then...our portion is finished!!! So we will be ready to show our profile...actually we got a call yesterday...and our profile might be seen by a birthmom very soon...she is due with a little girl in May...so time to make a little girlie quilt...yeah...if the situation doesn't work out for us...I have pregnant friends and cousins...this quilt will have a good home if it doesn't stay with us.

And I am going paint on the last coat shellac in this wardrobe to the nursery...did i mention it was FREE!!! At Jake's parent's church yardsale back in December...I saw this wardrobe outside...falling apart...I said "who's is this?"...they lady in charge said..."You want that?" (like who else in their right mind would)...I said "I sure do...I'll fix it up and put it in our nursery" She said "well you can have it" Jake rolled his eyes...he doesn't see things like I do...he can't picture it after a little TLC. Hubs is impressed with how well she looks...

Can't wait to put it in the nursery tomorrow!

Christmas Ruffle Tote

My sweet friend, Tammy, called me a while ago and ask if we'd like to use their beach condo for a few days in November. YEAH! We took our parents and had a great trip. As a little thank you, I made and mailed her a Christmas tote today.

What are you making these days?

Oh How I Love Thee

Mostly Jennifer Paganelli fabrics with a splash of Heather Bailey fabric and red polka dots from JoAnn's.

Dear Friends & Family (on my "I want to make you a quilt one day" list but you don't even know you are on my list),

You are not getting this quilt...sorry...I love it too much. Maybe you will be next. But probably not...I have a paying customer...who I told her give me 7 months...cause I am SOOO not into pressure or stressing over sewing these days. She offered to pay me before I started on the quilt...I told her No thanks...I'd make the quilt 1st...at a slow pace and if she likes it after I finish...she can buy it.

Happy Stress-free Sewing...

I think I am going to rest under this freshly washed quilt.

Doggie Doggie Wheres Your Home?

Little Avery's area by the back door is looking a bit drab. Though her Las Vegas towel is cool...

When my new So St. Croix fabric came in I decided it was time to make her a new bed.
Pretty Simple...

So I got her all set up...

Then decided...Tango has his own quilt...and she doesn't...the cobblers son has no shoes??? She loves blankets...especially fleece blankets...especially THIS fleece blanket.

And well it is on the downside of drab too...Hmmm how about I make a top piece and sew it onto her fav blanket...a win win...Bingo.

Pose...

She likes it!

Before...

After...and yes...she is under her new blanket...thats how she rolls!

I found the yellow polka dot placemat in the $1 section at Michaels yesterday...she needed it too.

Next Mission...find a new pretty rug for the backdoor...

And yes she stays tied to the backdoor when I am sewing and have a hot iron in the kitchen...

And the fabric is by Jennifer Paganelli...

2 matching pillows...

And I scrapped together 2 artsy pillows...and this is why I never toss a piece unless it in less than 1/4 inch!!! The brown polka dot bed skirt is on the guest bed...which could easily be converted into a matching crib dust ruffle...and the curtain is this material as well...Hmmm...GOOOOOOOO Ovaries! We need a little girl now...well as soon as I stuff these pillows...

Make room for a baby girl...

Let's start with No baby girl on the way that we know of...just wishful thinking...

Making the quilt tops is the fun part for me...backing and edging...is like pulling my teeth...So I backed it this morning...

Decided to actually try putting a ruffle on a quilt instead of talking about it...

My helper always wants in a picture...it is totally obvious that is the 3 right...with the pull-up and PACIFIER!!!

The front...

The back...

Pose...

Pose...

Pose...and my dogwood finally bloomed out...lovely...

Next up...cover an ugly canvas I already have with a fabric collage to match and a pillow or two to match...those are also "FUN" parts...
