No sew scarf tutorial...

Can this really even be called a tutorial since its so easy?...not really...it's more like a reminder that New Years is coming up so check your closet for tshirts/knit shirts with a small stain or hole or it doesn't fit so well any more...or you just don't wear any longer or thrift a cute shirt if you are looking for a particular color/patterned scarf...(both of these are thrifted)

Cut the hem off and cut straight across under the sleeves...

Give it a good stretch and twist once and put it on...tada new scarf!

Extra small/kids tshirts can be worn...with
out even twisting...so make sure you check their closets/thrift sections too!

Happy Scarfing!!!

Bag Bottom

Aria's Bag needed something sturdy in the bottom...

I have never put anything in the bottom of the bags I've made though I have always been thinking "what is a cheap way to make a bottom???" While at the dollar store this week...it clicked...placemats!!!

And cover them with a pillowcase type cover...aka dish towels from the dollar store as well...

So I cut them to size and taped all four pieces together to build a nice sturdy piece...

Sewed the little pillow case type slip covers and slid them on...

Weekender bag bottom liner!!!

Dress to Skirt

A new skirt has been on my wish list...but I don't wear them often...so I decided to take an old dress that I NEVER wear and turn it into a skirt...

Hey Date Night...Where are you? I'll be ready when you get here.

I didn't use a tutorial...it was just cut, turn down twice, iron, sew edge, insert elastic, sew closed.

http://madebypetchy.blogspot.com/2009/05/how-to-make-your-own-hair-removal-wax.html

Ps: I tried a online conversion chart...I think the US recipe would be:

1 cup sugar
1 heaping tablespoon of honey
1/3 cup lemon juice

Corrie

May 5 attempt one...didn't make it thick enough? used lime juice perhaps that had something to do with it?
