When Empty Arms Become a Heavy Burden

I have just finished reading this book...literally...minutes ago...

It was just what I needed. One of the writers a former OBGYN, infertility patient, and now a pastor walks you through the chapters with biblical references to people facing infertility and also brings it to a human level. He references God caring for you in the way you would would care for a new kitten...you take them to the vet for shots to keep them healthy...the kitten doesn't understand your purpose. And it left me being able to relate in secondary infertility to an amputee with one leg. Do people often say to him "well at least you have one leg". Discounting my gratefulness for my miracle son. Or secondary infertility is like being at a feast where you are served one delicious roll and then told if you would like the rest of your meal it will cost you an average of $2,000-$50,000, oh and you may not even get your food. Though for most everyone else it is free and all you can eat, all day, everyday, not to mention fresh and cooked to taste.

I highly recommend this book for anyone walking down the path of infertility. It is available at www.amazon.com

Ps...Hubbie said this post sounded angry. I am not angry. Frustrated at times...YES. The point was I found comfort in this book...and I hope your friends will too.

Thanks for making me cry. This has been a hard couple of weeks. One of my cousins is expecting. I'm extremely happy for her, but as I share in her joy, I am painfully reminded of my emptiness. It's amazing how we deal with this in cycles. I'm glad you found some comfort in this book. I may have to look into it when the timing is right. I'm scheduled for a visit with a new Dr. on July 14th. I'm going with a renewed faith. Love you!
