No sew scarf tutorial...
Can this really even be called a tutorial since its so easy?...not really...it's more like a reminder that New Years is coming up so check your closet for tshirts/knit shirts with a small stain or hole or it doesn't fit so well any more...or you just don't wear any longer or thrift a cute shirt if you are looking for a particular color/patterned scarf...(both of these are thrifted)
Cut the hem off and cut straight across under the sleeves...

Give it a good stretch and twist once and put it on...tada new scarf!

Extra small/kids tshirts can be worn...with
out even twisting...so make sure you check their closets/thrift sections too!

Happy Scarfing!!!

Happenings
Let's see...after the stomach bug...I started working on our homestudy again...and since it has been nice outside I started working on CJ's new headboard that Jake and I found for $7.00...not sure what color I am going to paint it.
BEFORE

SANDED...now to decide if I am going to paint it red...probably. And see that wardrobe it is leaning on...I am working on it too...for the nursery...but thats another post.

Had a request come in for a shirt...

She stopped by yesterday to pick it up...Little doll isn't she...CJ had her turned into a super hero in no time!

Dress to Skirt
A new skirt has been on my wish list...but I don't wear them often...so I decided to take an old dress that I NEVER wear and turn it into a skirt...

Hey Date Night...Where are you? I'll be ready when you get here.
I didn't use a tutorial...it was just cut, turn down twice, iron, sew edge, insert elastic, sew closed.

Upcycling T-Shirts
Ok...I found a FAN-tastic sight this morning...I was looking for ways to Upcycle T-shirts...Jackpot! Craftstylish is the name.
I started with one of hubbie's old white XL t-shirts...read the Yoke Neck tutorial...and just stopped after tying off the basting stitches. I also cut the sleeve hems and bottom hem off...so all edges are raw. And no I won't wear this shirt in public...it is just my tester shirt. I do like the fit...and will be great when I am preg again...so easy maternity shirts...this took minutes.

Then I tried it on one of my size medium shirts...and used the seem ripper to take the hem out...(I'm tall I always want more length.) Nice.
Others I am going to try. We have millions of t-shirts...and they are always giving them away at Georgia Tech games...now I can girly them up a bit.
Cardigan will be super cute with a little tank underneath!

Ok so the next time you are at a concert and they run out of your size buy a size or two or three larger and make it your own!
