Ode to Sept Zoo

Oh turtles having salad for breakfast...

Tara, the elephant, clean from your bath...

We love the new parakeet exhibit...

$1.00 stick of food-you are worth it...

Birdie birdie I love you so...

Oh King of the Jungle this is not Studio 54...

Sit still? Oh no that would be too easy...Ps...Luke this is my green VEST not a "life jacket".

Ride the carousel on a moving animal? Forget it...

This train ride sounded so cool...

Until I remembered it might blow its whistle...

This chair is too small for us all to get a pedicure...

Thank goodness this elephant doesn't move because the peacock was taken...

77 degrees...and much cooler in the shade...oh Zoo Atlanta...today you were a breeze.

Adam and Carrie

Hey...If you have kept up with Adam and Carrie...how AWESOME for Carrie her entry last night around 10:00 pm! ! ! ! !

"Adam has had a great day and was able to rest some. He winked at me a couple of times earlier today, which he always does. The first time just randomly when I was talking to him and the second time when I asked him to. He continues to move all around in bed and pull at his nasal cannula or whatever else is bothering him. Tonight when I was leaving I kissed him on the forehead and then asked him to kiss me. He kissed me about four times when I asked; puckered his lips and everything...so sweet! It made my day!! Pray that he has another restful night and his CT scan goes well tomorrow."

See Miracles happen every single day!

Here is Adam's CaringBridge Page

And another miracle...Maggie had little (well 8 pounds 5 ounces ain't so little) Marley last Thursday!!! They are both doing well.

My Milkshake Brings

Spoonflower...ever heard of it?...An amazing site where you design and print your own fabric.

I play on there sometimes...and entered a contest last week. Theme: use spoons and flowers.

My entry...made in my Paint program...very simple and low budget (I wish I had an awesome design program): I named it My Milkshake Brings...because of the funny little song that my brother-in-law likes. So here is my entry design:
My Milkshake Brings

The fabric is a tableclothish picture of a milkshake with a flower on the rim. And of course a long milkshake spoon. They repeat it...you can see the way it would print on fabric by clicking on the contest link. (I'd like for it to be larger...but hey I was just playing around while C was asleep!)

Somehow I landed the #7 spot of 70 in the 1st round of voting!!! So if you are a member...VOTE for me!

Contest link:
Spoon Flower Contest

The winner wins some of the fabric they designed and they sell the fabric on Etsy.

Kanye's Take on the Flood

Yes it is flooding around here...not in my house but close enough it took hubbie almost 2 hours to "find a way" home last night...the 3rd time was a charm!!! This is crazy!

And Kanye had this to say...

Cupcake Options

Hey Lisa...

Here are the options...

Size 2T Pink (remember they run VERy small)...

Size 2T White...

Size 12 months pink onesie...with the circle...

Size 18 months pink onesie...with the circle...

The onesies have a design on them that I cannot cover with just a cupcake...thus the circle with the cupcake on it. (And none of these are ironed and sewn on yet...)

Scrappy Baby Boy Quilt

I'm trying to use up more scraps...and make another baby boy quilt by doing so...

Yawn...seriously I wanted to sleep another 2 hours at naptime...this rain...wow...I'm so over it. Time to make the eggrolls...

Ps...I went with the titanium blackberry...but it needs some decoration...I'm working on it.

Bleached Pumpkins

My Aunt Gigi saved me this magazine last year...and I packed it with my fall stuff to try this year...

Seriously cute right!

I wanted to make C one last week...

The one with lots of pumpkins...

So I bought an orange shirt at Michaels for $2.00 and a bleach pen at the dollar store for $1.00...great cheap project right!!!

Mmmm you can't see but I put the foil in the shirt and bleached on my circles...then dried them with a hairdryer...

Then threw the shirt in the washer...all ALONE...

Then dried it...and it didn't work!!! What??? Yeah IT DID NOT WORK! I surfed the internet...hunting for someone to help me...found a helper...he said "orange is hard to bleach" OF COURSE IT IS...so I guess I'll try again and if it still doesn't work...I'll use white paint and be on my way...

Pouchy Pouch Pouches

Learning CURVE!!! I have not made a perfect one yet...the zipper goes the wrong way...or the strap is sewn inside...or i don't sew the strap together 1st...or the roof is totally wonky...or one side of the liner is turned the wrong way...they are all functional and cute...just not goood enough yet. My next ones will be golden...I can do this...

All fabric is by Jennifer Paganelli. I love her.

Banana Bread Pie
