RoyGBv goes into motion

Are you sick of this quilt yet? Well I am almost finished with it so hang with me. Today I made the edging or binding...I like to call mine edging because it is so much bigger than a typical binding. Then I cut the backing out of a table cloth that I do not use. Then I slapped a colorful backing together. As soon as ba-boo goes down for his nap I will begin free motion quilting this RoyGBv Baby Quilt.

While I worked...C.J. "mopped" What a good helper I have.

Profile Pictures

When C.J. got up this a.m. we were scooting around...we went in the bathroom for a second and I noticed where he was standing the sun coming in the window was bouncing off the mirror onto the wall and I could see his little profile. I said wait here...let me get the camera! ! ! So I was able to snap a few cool pics. These might be useful in a profile project that I have never attempted.

So pay attention as you scurry around your home...you might find a perfect profile too.

Wondering Golfer

Sunday after church and a stop by Aldi...i made by request hamburger patties (1 pound ground chuck, 1 egg, oatmeal, Worcestershire sauce, Dale's sauce) for Jake to grill. And our wondering golfer...roamed the yard while the grilling took place.

Wonky RoyGBv Topper

Back to the RoyGBv Wonky quilt...today I roto cut off all of the wonkyness into perfect 11 by 11 inch squares. I then decided to use those scraps and make a scrappy middle and final square. A quick sew all together and this is side one. It will be a baby quilt. I am going to edge it or bind it in black and white fabrics. And back it with ???

With the rest of the scraps I made a few little diddies. I think I'll frame the larger to hang in my craft room (closet) and sew the other onto a greeting card. See scraps are useful!!!

Floral Brooches

And here are 9 of the brooches I finished...as you can see in the background...C.J. played with his little people while I stitched on the couch. Cough. Cough.

oh some of the fabric is Jennifer Paganelli's and some is Heather Bailey's.

sorry i realize the pics do not show case the beauty...on our olive couch...you can't see the chocolate corduroy background of the brooches. anywho. off to cook supper...it is breakfast night....eggs, grits, and toast. yummy! ttfn.

Twin Pillows Finished

i found a place online and watched a video on how to sew the pillows shut...with a slip stitch at:

http://www.monkeysee.com/play/2149-sewing-by-hand-the-slip-stitch

and i am not feeling well today (nasty head cold passed from son to hubbie to me)...so i sat on the couch and sewed them shut then...worked on some floral brooches that i have had in my bag for a bit.

Twin Pillows

So pillow idea is coming to fruition. I wanted to make the twins pillows for their 2nd birthdays. And while I never have the details on how exactly I will accomplish this...I have a great start. I want to free motion them...that is the dilemma...or just trying to decide if I place a layer behind and then free motion...which I believe is the answer...and then make the pillow.

Dear Brittany...

You'll still be surprised when you see them...they'll be cuter in person.

love,
Corrie

RoyGBv Wonky Squares

Today I worked on new wonky squares...for a RoyGBv (remember from school Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Violet) color scheme....all squares have a black & white middle...then a color around like red to start...then orange around it...so each block is black&white then two colors. My mind thinks in this order...I arrange the clothes in my closet in this order...oh yeah I am so half OCD...And I remember coloring a million pinwheels as a child in this order...and marrying my crayons to each other...but let's save that for another day. Hmmm I love colors...not crayons...just bold colors. Have you ever played on www.colourlovers.com Oh wow it is so fun. If you don't like it or get it...it is ok...but I don't get people who like to dig up bones all day for a living...so we all have our things.

And while sewing in the kitchen...I managed to cook supper...I roasted a chicken (my first whole one...and it is super easy...why have I never tried to do this?), made mashed potatoes and carrots and canned biscuits. Rock on....my chicken was the bomb.

I added www.colourlovers.com to my list of fun places online...to the right. You should try it sometime.

Snow & Snowcream

Yep...our local weather man, Glenn Burns, had it right this time...62 yesterday and snowing today! ! ! Wecome to Georgia! If you have some sprinkled in your yard...serve it up to the kids as is, with koolaid poured over the top or make snowcream...it is good for their immune system...just not the yellow snow ;) C.J. prefers his snow plain in a Georgia Tech cup with a spoon. Yeah...he's a lefty...like me!
