Sunny Coasters

Are they sunny? Or drab old vintage material coasters? Yeah...a little of both. I made them. Today. Just wanted to give it a shot. Do you want them? The first person to leave a comment...they are yours (USA only..I do not want to figure out foreign shipping today). Make sure I can contact you. And tell me how you landed here. I will start having more giveaways...as of right now.

E Shirts

My half of the trade (remember the cutie keychain): A shirt with the letter E in baseball fabric...and well its just easier to make more than one.

Tough Times For All

Habakkuk 3:17-18 Trust in a Time of Trouble

17 Fig trees may no longer bloom,
or vineyards produce grapes;
olive trees may be fruitless,
and harvest time a failure;
sheep pens may be empty,
and cattle stalls vacant--
18 but I will still celebrate
because the LORD God
saves me.

My heart is big and sore today. Perhaps this picture of grapeless vines is my womb. Perhaps it is our not knowing what to do next in so many areas of our lives. Ok it is both.

Oh God, hear our prayers. I will praise you...while I'm waiting.

Oh applique!

Oh Sunbonnet Sue...i have so many modern plans for you! I found a jackpot of appliques for soft applique quilts...and oh yeah! I am going to jump in this pool. Just you wait and see. Please look over the fact that the site is stuck in 1984 color palete...bland...bland...bland...think ahead young quilters...picture these great dittys in Jennifer Paganelli, Heather Butler, in swirls and polka dots.

Quilted song?

ok lovelys...next on deck to sew and free motion into a scrumptious quilted treat...we have:

"You are my Sunshine, My only Sunshine
You make me hap-py when skies are grey
You'll never know dear how much I love you
So please don't take my sunshine away."

My mind has been going crazy over this fabric I won...like back around Feb 2nd, 2009 from Aunt Spicy? And I have not known what to make with it...all grey and yellow fabric? A bit odd and drab and needing to be spruced up? But how? And I felt guilty because it is Amy Butler fabric!!! And then I saw this..."Cutting The Mustard" Quilt over at Hop Skip Jump:

http://hopskipjump.typepad.com/hop_skip_jump/2009/01/cutting-the-mustard.html

And I knew...I could breathe life into this fabric. I ransacked my fabric stash and came up with a little ditty basket of friends...that ain't so bad.

Stay tuned.

RoyGBv is Motioned Out

RoyGBv is motioned out...all free motion quilting is finished on this one as of Wedensday 3-11-09 actually. Now when will I sew on the edging? Monday? or Tuesday? Wednesday? Yes...one of those days.

I am already picking fabric for another quilt.

Photography Pillow Cases

My friend Dawn called and ask if I could make her some pillow cases with fabric she'd bought. I said SURE! She is going to put tiny little babies in this basket and take their picture. Awww! I hope I have another little baby soon for her to photo in this basket.

RoyGBv goes into motion

Are you sick of this quilt yet? Well I am almost finished with it so hang with me. Today I made the edging or binding...I like to call mine edging because it is so much bigger than a typical binding. Then I cut the backing out of a table cloth that I do not use. Then I slapped a colorful backing together. As soon as ba-boo goes down for his nap I will begin free motion quilting this RoyGBv Baby Quilt.

While I worked...C.J. "mopped" What a good helper I have.

Profile Pictures

When C.J. got up this a.m. we were scooting around...we went in the bathroom for a second and I noticed where he was standing the sun coming in the window was bouncing off the mirror onto the wall and I could see his little profile. I said wait here...let me get the camera! ! ! So I was able to snap a few cool pics. These might be useful in a profile project that I have never attempted.

So pay attention as you scurry around your home...you might find a perfect profile too.

Wondering Golfer

Sunday after church and a stop by Aldi...i made by request hamburger patties (1 pound ground chuck, 1 egg, oatmeal, Worcestershire sauce, Dale's sauce) for Jake to grill. And our wondering golfer...roamed the yard while the grilling took place.

Wonky RoyGBv Topper

Back to the RoyGBv Wonky quilt...today I roto cut off all of the wonkyness into perfect 11 by 11 inch squares. I then decided to use those scraps and make a scrappy middle and final square. A quick sew all together and this is side one. It will be a baby quilt. I am going to edge it or bind it in black and white fabrics. And back it with ???

With the rest of the scraps I made a few little diddies. I think I'll frame the larger to hang in my craft room (closet) and sew the other onto a greeting card. See scraps are useful!!!
